WOD 4/30/09

Today’s WOD:

15 Handstand Push-Ups
1 L Pull-Up
13 Handstand Push-Ups
3 L Pull-Ups

1 Handstand Push-Up
15 L Pull-Ups

-I’m noticing a growing trend – many people have been asking if they can do something other than what’s posted on the board that day. I’m not big on rules, but everything posted to the board is mandatory. Everyone is going to have workouts they would prefer not to do. Chances are, if you don’t want to do a workout, it’s because you’re lacking in an ability which that workout addresses. Let’s face it, most of us would rather not do things we’re not good at. But, the people who simply do the full warm-up, WOD, and any prescribed skill work everyday, are usually the ones who I notice making the most progress. If you’re already doing all that, and feel you’re lacking in specific areas, I would be more than happy to help you address those issues, usually by adding in work before or after the posted WOD. Lastly, we do have our PR day. If you really have a workout you would like to do, save it for then.

What do you do if you can’t do an L Pull-up?

  2. kyle says:

    yeah, what she said

  3. Jake says:

Kyle, you can do an L pull-up. It’ll just suck.

Otherwise, I’m sure Brandon will have a nice sub for you.

  4. Court says:

Just under 20min. I had to try super hard not too be a clock-sucker on this one. So many places in this workout where you can lose good form.

  5. kyle says:

somewhere around an hour with bad form… that’s what it felt like anyways
28 i think with decent form

  6. megan says:

18:03 with the regular pull-up/l-hang sub. tried to focus on doing good hspu’s.

  7. Dave S says:

14:17, tried not to sag on the l-pulls, the last set was all singles

  8. Brian says:

    14:08

By the end I was down to singles on the pulls too. Kind of wished the wod was reversed, more pulls before pushes.
