Dollar burger night made your life better, DP. Mass Gain.

JS – I have a pair of Nike Free cross trainers that I have been very happy with. They are just about the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned.

You should try to find some shoes that have hard flat soles (for lifting) and are comfortable enough for running. For me, the Nike Frees were best. They have running shoes as well as cross trainers. I’ve read about a lot of people using old school Converses for training, but those are just not comfortable for running for me. Anyways, I think the Frees are where it’s at. Just one man’s opinion.

Dragon,

that’s what I’ve been thinking since you and brando swear by them. The one’s I have been looking at are here:

In the reviews, there are a couple people talking about weightlifting and sprinting and one poster even commented about them being the “perfect CrossFit shoe”, haha!

I don’t want to get into it too much on this message board because I’m pretty sure people don’t want to read short articles authored by me. But the things I stated in my previous post definitely hold true for this line of shoes. Semi-hard flat soles and comfortable and light for running. The versatility is nice for wods with running and lifting mixed together.

Go try a pair on and see what you think. They might have this specific pair at Finish Line in Short Pump. I know they have other shoes from the Free line there too.

Brian, you should write an article on shoes for CrossFit. I’ll post it. Really.

I like my new balance shoes. I don’t get into shoes much – I generally buy a pair, wear them out, and buy a new pair. But I went for the shoes that had the least padding in them. I bought these originally for strongman, but there’s very similar requirements in terms of shoes between strongman and crossfit. You need a stable base for lifting weights, but something light and flexible to move around in freely. The Frees had a little more padding than I am used to.

I’ve also heard good things about:

22 or 24, something like that but i did ring dips instead o f thrusters

I wear new balance 574′s. They’re flatter and have harder rubber than most running shoes I’ve worn and feel pretty good to lift in.
