Yoga RVA is downtown Richmond’s home for Power Vinyasa Yoga. We offer classes 6 days per week geared toward athletes and yogis looking to increase strength, stamina, flexibility, and focus. Power Vinyasa is an energetic and challenging style of yoga guaranteed to produce extraordinary results and take your practice to the next level.
I began practicing yoga in 2006 as a way to regain flexibility after years of physically intense sports. After discovering the amazing benefits of Baptiste Power Vinyasa while recovering from an injury, my yoga practice developed from cross-training tool, to primary form of exercise. My favorite style of yoga is a blend between Ashtanga and Baptiste Power, which satisfies her passion for alignment, heat, and flow. I received my 200-hour certification in 2010 from the Center for Health & Healing in Toms River, New Jersey and looks forward to continuing my yoga education in the future.
I found yoga a couple of years ago after needing a real change in my life. I took a chance on a yoga class after hearing about its positive effects on the mind and body. I already had a strong background in rock climbing, running, and calisthenics so I took to the strength and balance aspects of yoga quickly. Through yoga, I found a real love and challenge in the architecture of movement as it primes and conditions us for all other types of movement. After benefiting so much from yoga in mind and body and feeling first hand the transformatiional effects on my entire outlook and perspective on life I felt called to teach others. I traveled to San Francisco to study Ashtanga and “Rocket” yoga; a strong style of yoga with plenty of handstands, arm balances, and transitions. Since then, I’ve enjoyed instructing, and look forward to bringing my unique skillset to Yoga RVA.
